SCHOOL PROJECT
BACKGROUND
Folkhouse is a fictional co-op brewery based in Vancouver, and is a community space where people can come together to learn about, make, and enjoy quality craft beer. There is a growing market in brewpubs in Vancouver, but Folkhouse is the first cooperatively owned brewery of its kind in BC. Though it is the first cooperatively owned brewery of its kind in BC, it is still important to find ways to stand out in the sea of breweries/pubs in Vancouver.
METHOD
Folkhouse is a unique experience, and so incorporating that aspect into the brand identity, while still keeping in mind the target audience was really important. When it came to creating a logo and a concept that encompasses the meaning of Folkhouse, it took many different iterations. 
THE MIXER ELIXIR SERIES
Created by Dr. Folkhouse, the Mixer Elixir beer series is a limited edition set that revolves around the idea of 3 mysterious potions: Elixir of Life Orange IPA, Cure All Remedy Coffee Stout, and Snake Oil Growth Lime Sour and whether or not each of their statements are true. The inspiration behind this series was vintage medicine labels and the outlandish claims that come along with them.

Bright pastel colours paired with a decorative serif help to strike a balance between vintage and modern. 
BRANDED ELEMENTS
Merchandise such as branded growlers as well as t-shirts will be sold to members within the cooperative brewery. These branded elements all keep in line with the bright colour palette and style as the limited beer series to help keep a consistent look.
